Schedule: 32.5 hours per week (8:15 AM – 3:15 PM)
Duration: ASAP through End of School Year
Compensation: $45–$50 per hour
Position Overview
We are seeking four (4) Special Education Teachers to provide excellent instructional services to students in grades K–12. Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, the Special Education Teacher delivers individualized instruction, implements IEP goals, collaborates with general education staff, and maintains a supportive and structured learning environment.
Each classroom is supported by paraprofessionals, and caseloads are manageable to ensure meaningful instructional engagement and student progress.
Available Classroom Assignments
+ Elementary Special Education Classroom
+ Middle School Special Education Classroom
+ High School Multi-Needs Classroom
Serves students with significant needs and requires increased staff support for engagement.
+ 18–22 Transition Program Classroom
Focused on life skills, vocational readiness, and community-based transition planning.
Caseload & Classroom Structure
+ Caseload: Approximately 7–8 students
+ Classroom Support: Paraprofessionals assigned
+ Bell Schedule: 8:15 AM – 3:15 PM
Minimum Requirements
+ Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)
+ Valid Illinois teaching certification (as required by district/state)
+ Minimum one year classroom teaching experience (preferred)
+ Preferred Illinois Certification Types:
+ Standard Elementary Teaching
+ Standard Secondary Teaching
+ Standard Special Teaching
+ LBS1 endorsement strongly preferred
+ Current CPR certification (if applicable)
+ TB Questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (as required)
+ Current Health Certificate (as required)
+ Must meet all federal, state, and local compliance requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years old

Teachers work closely with paraprofessionals and related service providers to ensure all students receive high-quality educational support.
