CT Technologist – Radiology/Cardiology
About the Role
University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center is seeking a skilled CT Technologist to perform high-quality computerized tomographic imaging in a fast-paced radiology environment. The technologist will produce cross-sectional images essential for diagnosing soft tissue, vascular, and skeletal conditions. This role includes obtaining patient history, explaining procedures, addressing concerns, and performing specialized CT tasks with precision and safety.
First-time travelers are accepted. Local travelers may be considered at a reduced rate.
Key Responsibilities
+ Perform complex CT imaging procedures in accordance with radiation safety standards
+ Position patients using appropriate immobilization and protective equipment
+ Set and adjust scanner controls; monitor patient and equipment performance
+ Assist radiologists with imaging procedures, IV starts, and contrast administration
+ Dispense oral contrast and assist with interventional CT procedures
+ Evaluate CT images for technical quality and proper labeling
+ Schedule patients and assist with clerical tasks as needed
+ Charge procedures and supplies accurately
+ Load and operate power injectors for contrast media
+ Maintain accurate patient records and uphold HIPAA standards
+ Adhere to all Amergis and facility policies and procedures
+ Perform additional duties as assigned
Shift Schedule
+ Schedule: Thursday through Sunday
+ Hours: 9:00 PM – 7:30 AM (4×10 nights)
+ Weekends: Required as part of block schedule
+ Holidays: Required as scheduled
+ Floating: Not required
+ On-Call: Not required
Minimum Requirements
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ One year of CT technologist experience preferred
+ Valid Maryland state licensure in diagnostic imaging
+ ARRT-R required; ARRT-CT preferred
+ Current BLS certification
+ Participation in Amergis Competency Program when applicable
+ TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (as required)
+ Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
+ Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements
+ Successful completion of new-hire training
+ Understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality
+ Strong communication skills and English proficiency
+ Computer proficiency required
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
Compensation PackagesTravel CT Technologist
+ Hourly Pay: $54/hr
+ Meals: $476
+ Housing: $770
+ Estimated Weekly Pay: $3,406
Non-billable orientation: 24 hours.
