Position Summary
Bowdoin College’s Department of anthropology invites applications for a full-time benefits-eligible visiting assistant professor appointment in cultural anthropology for the 2026-2027 academic year. The appointment is for one year and begins July 1, 2026. The teaching load is two undergraduate courses per semester, including one introductory course. Topical and geographical area specializations are open, but we are especially interested in candidates with teaching and research expertise in visual anthropology, ethnographic film, or political anthropology. A PhD is expected by the date of appointment.
