Osmose Utilities is seeking an in office Safety Coordinator for our Atlanta office M-F working with the Safety team, Operations management, and Project Management to support company, customer, and industry safety requirements and programs.
Under the direction of the Corporate Safety Specialist and Safety Manager, the Safety Coordinator provides recordkeeping, reporting, and other administrative support for the Osmose Safety Management program. The position requires regular communication, interaction, and coordination with operations management, project managers, safety specialists, and customers. Occasional travel—such as field visits and customer meetings—may be required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Oversee, schedule, track, and report on safety audit and other field safety activities
• Make customer notifications and coordinate communications related to workplace incidents
• Prepare internal and customer reports related to safety incidents and activities
• Develop, review, and distribute safety-related communications
• Monitor, analyze, and report on safety performance metrics
• Maintain records and produce reports related to workplace incidents and safety activities
• Participate in or attend customer meetings (remote or in-person)
• Oversee and manage safety recognition and award programs
• Assist with the administration of the company driver safety system (“dash cam”) system
• Assist with the administration of the company learning management system (LMS) for safety training
• Assist with the management of supplier qualification systems (e.g., Avetta, ISNetworld, Veriforce)
REQUIREMENTS:
•Must be authorized to work in US without sponsorship.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED); associate’s or bachelor's degree preferred
• Three years of work experience, which include safety responsibilities; experience in the utilities, construction, or field service industry preferred
• Knowledge of or experience with OSHA regulations, recordability, and recordkeeping preferred
• Self-starter, with the ability to work independently
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple work assignments and meet deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams, and Adobe Acrobat
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk. The position may also require the employee to occasionally bend, crouch, kneel, squat, stoop, reach, and lift up to 25 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While this is an office-based position, it could require occasional field visits with exposure to outdoor conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, freezing temperatures, uneven terrain, and exposure to poisonous plants, insects, animals, and allergens. The employee may also be exposed to chemicals (e.g., pesticides, coatings), energized electrical equipment, and noise exceeding 85 decibels.
TRAVEL:
Position may require occasional nationwide, overnight travel, up to 10%.
