Job Summary
Based in Honolulu, HI
The Ground Support & Facilities Technician reports directly to the Maintenance Director – HNL and is responsible to assist the staff of the WestAir Charter division of Western Aircraft, based in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Duties & Responsibilities
+ Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on all company ground support equipment (GSE) and vehicles.
+ Maintain computer database tracker for all company GSE and vehicles.
+ Develop and maintain GSE and vehicle status board and maintenance schedule (communication tool)
+ Maintain adequate parts and fluids inventory for support and servicing of GSE and vehicles.
+ Wash and detail exterior and interior of GSE and Vehicles.
+ Assist with scheduling and maintenance of hangar equipment and hangar doors.
+ Assist in developing safety policies and procedures for GSE, and motor vehicle operations.
+ Assist in developing training program for GSE and motor vehicles care and operation.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Job Requirements
+ Minimum 3 years’ experience performing preventive maintenance and repair of ground support equipment and/or motor vehicles.
+ Diesel and gas engine experience required.
+ E-vehicle experience preferable.
+ Capable of downloading and analyzing engine vehicle codes.
+ Must provide own basic hand tools to perform maintenance tasks.
+ Requires a broad knowledge of mechanical and electromechanical maintenance activities.
+ Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Word.
+ Must be competent in reading, deciphering and entering data into maintenance tracking program.
Other Prerequisites
+ Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
+ Ability to obtain Airport Issued security badge.
+ Valid Driver’s License.
+ Read, write and comprehend the English language.
+ Strong self-starter that can work under minimal supervision.
+ Employee may be required to travel, adhering to TSA screening procedures in effect at time and location of travel. Primarily to support GSE on island of Lanai.
Work Environment
+ Work is performed in an aircraft hangar environment with moderate noise level. The employee is frequently subject to inside environmental conditions, which provide protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Must be able to wear a respirator or air hood, and work in a confined environment.
