Job Description :

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Provides assessment, treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies under licensed medical direction.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Administers therapeutic respiratory care procedures according to hospital and department policies. (45%)

+ Completes documentation that is required to measure, monitor and ensure department effectiveness e.g., charting, billing, IPOC, patient/family education. (20%)

+ Performs diagnostic respiratory procedures according to hospital and department policies. (20%)

+ Provides instruction to patients and other members of the healthcare team as needed. (5%)

+ Complete charge duties and special projects as assigned. (10%)

+ Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

+ Minimum

+ Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

+ Graduate of an approved respiratory therapy program required. Formal training in intubation.

+ Pennsylvania state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.

+ Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).

+ CPR – American Heart Association.

+ Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.

+ Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.

+ Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
