Job Description

A client in Chicago is looking for a Platform Engineer to join their team. The Platform Engineer will be responsible for designing, automating, and managing secure, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructure. This role focuses on embedding security into every layer of platform engineering, ensuring workloads are compliant, hardened, and aligned with enterprise security guardrails. The engineer will work closely with development, DevOps, and security teams to deliver security-by-design cloud environments through automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and proactive monitoring.

Skills and Requirements

8+ years of experience in similar role

3+ years of experience focusing in security automation

Strong understanding of: IAM, encryption, KMS, & network security

Experience with automation & scripting: python, /Powershell, & javascript for lambda based security automation

Experience with: Terraform, CloudFormation, CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes AWS Certifications
