Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to sit on site in the San Antonio, TX area. This candidate will come from a background working with NIST 800-53 Security and Privacy controls and have the ability to perform gap analysis to HIPAA and CJIS controls. This person will be joining a team of engineers and analyst and working hands on designing systems.

Essential Job Functions Include:

• Lead the analysis, integration, testing, operations, and ongoing maintenance of system security measures.

• Conduct assessments of systems and networks to identify deviations from established baselines.

• Manage access control processes and monitor for collection gaps.

• Evaluate IT projects, programs, and technical environments to ensure alignment with relevant security standards and best practices.

• Prepare, execute, and document system tests to validate performance and optimization.

• Form and direct threat‑hunting teams to investigate cybersecurity events or support incident response activities.

• Implement and administer a Security Awareness Training Program, providing metrics and reporting as needed.

• Lead specialized security teams (“tiger teams”) in analyzing attack vectors, threats, and adversarial activities.

• Support leadership with the development of security operations products and documentation.

• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Skills and Requirements

- High school diploma or GED

- 4 years of technical, cybersecurity, or relevant business experience

- Background in NIST 800-53 Security and Privacy controls

- Knowledge of CJIS, PCI, HIPAA, GRC principles, and Security Operations Center (SOC) processes

- Knowledge of the seven NICE Framework Workforce Categories and how they apply to cybersecurity roles.

- Knowledge of business operations, system requirements, IT processes, and associated technologies.
