Painter

Must be able to prepare wood and metal surfaces for painting, and paint equipment, parts, machinery, buildings, and other working areas using a spray gun, brush, and rollers. Other duties may be assigned.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

+ Reads work orders and receives instructions verbally.

+ Prepare the surface using methods appropriate to remove dirt, oil, and grease, removing old paint, smoothing cracks, coating, and filling holes.

+ Work at heights with no fear.

+ May fill cavities and dents with putty to attain a smooth surface.

+ Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce the desired color, according to specifications using a paddle or mechanical mixer.

+ May erect scaffolding or set up a ladder to perform tasks above ground level.

+ Apply paint to the surface using a spray gun, brush, and/or roller.

+ Other duties as assigned.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Qualifications Required for this Position:

**Education** – no minimum education requirements.

**Experience** – 4 years of Journeyman level experience.

**Certification/License** : NCCER, a Valid Driver’s License, and a TWIC Card.
