Responsibilities:
The Strong Children’s Developmental Disability (SCDD) Public Health Project Specialist II is responsible for supporting employment programs and services. The role will oversee program development, implementation, evaluation, dissemination, and track performance of SCDD’s employment programs and services and of University resources. The role will foster collaborative community partnerships with Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD), parents, guardians, school staff, and disability service provider agencies. The role is able to work independently and seek advice from the Director for Employment Programs about community partnerships and projects. The role will demonstrate ICARE* values in each of the major responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
+ Manage all aspects of SCDD’s employment programs and services for the University of Rochester University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) (e.g., ECHO for Employment Support Professionals, Advance 2 Apprenticeship, inclusive transition practices)
+ Co-develop and implement content, including didactics, webinars, written information, manuals, etc.
+ Develop and implement an evaluation framework, including pre-and post-participation assessments, to determine program effectiveness
+ Prepare quality quarterly reports, including data collection of process measures.
+ Manage marketing: Create and manage list serv, create and disseminate marketing and employment-related information
+ Support the Director of Employment Programs with NYS Statewide Project SEARCH coordination through technical assistance logistics, communication, scheduling, documentation, and dissemination of materials
+ Respond to interest of new sites (often from Project SEARCH website inquiries) from any potential partner, keeping Program Specialist informed of potential interest.
+ Assist Program Specialist with partner identification for new sites **(** education partner, Vocational Rehabilitation Agency, Community Rehabilitation Partner, DDHBD, other).
+ Work with Project SEARCH Program Specialist and Business Director to begin licensing process (once site has committed to begin program implementation)
+ Work with Business Manager and Program Specialist to ensure licensing agreement and Database Information Form is complete
+ Develop and provide trainings on employment initiatives that promote Employment First and competitive integrated employment, and economic self-sufficiency for individuals with IDD
+ Participate in cross-agency meetings, collaborative planning efforts and communicate routinely with all partners
+ Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
+ Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in an appropriate social or technical field required
+ A year or more of post baccalaureate academic or work in the field of disability preferred
+ 2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
+ Current knowledge of post-secondary transition, employment, customized employment, supported employment and employment first for individuals with IDD. Experience working with educational systems and state and not-for-profit service agencies desirable. Must have strong written communication skills as well as computer skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Demonstrated experience in managing timelines and program deliverables. Requires the ability to work independently with excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail. This position requires local and state-wide travel. Reliable/efficient transportation is required.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
+ National Certificate in Employment or Certified Employment Support Professional (CESP) preferred
