Role Overview
The Analytics, Investment & Marketing Enablement (AIM) team within the GCS Marketing Organization is the analytical powerhouse enabling profitable growth for the Global Commercial Services business. As AMEX advances its GenAI strategy, this role focuses on modernizing retention and save-a-card analytics by embedding Generative AI, LLM-powered decision making, intelligent automation, and advanced predictive modeling across SME customer journeys.
This B35 role—based out of New York—will be responsible for leveraging GenAI to transform proactive retention strategies, accelerate insights, enhance personalization, and improve sales and marketing effectiveness across Digital, Field, and Phone channels. This position represents a unique opportunity to drive $2Bn charge volume impact while shaping the next generation of AI-native retention ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities
+ Drive GenAI-enabled retention strategy using LLMs and advanced ML to detect churn signals and design targeted interventions.
+ Build and enhance predictive and generative AI models, integrating new precursors, embeddings, and customer-level signals into existing frameworks.
+ Collaborate with Marketing, Risk, and Sales to design AI-generated personalized treatments and optimized message variations.
+ Develop GenAI-enabled automated reporting and insights for Digital, Field, and Phone programs to support test-and-learn velocity.
+ Create AI-driven triggers, prioritization tiers, and intelligent workflows for Field and Phone Sales channels.
+ Partner with senior leaders and functional teams to drive GenAI adoption and influence strategic direction across GCS.
+ Drive automation, scalability, and continuous improvement of analytical systems using GenAI-based tools.
+ Mentor team members to build GenAI capabilities and deliver high-impact analytical solutions.
Minimum Qualifications
+ MBA or Master’s in a quantitative field.
+ 3 years of analytics, data science & Gen-AI experience.
+ Experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, vector databases, and GenAI deployment.
+ Experience using statistical techniques (hypothesis testing, regression, KNN, chi-square).
+ Strong programming skills (Python, SQL, PySpark) and familiarity with GenAI platforms (OpenAI, Vertex AI, Azure OpenAI).
+ Ability to work across matrix teams and communicate complex AI-driven insights effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience with commercial data, customer lifecycle analytics, and retention strategy.

Salary Range: $103,750.00 to $174,750.00 annually bonus benefits
