Job Title: Temporary Bookkeeper (3-6 Months)
Overview:
Our South San Francisco-based landscaping company is seeking a detail-oriented Temporary Bookkeeper for a 3-6 month assignment. The ideal candidate will manage day-to-day accounting operations using QuickBooks and contribute to the smooth functioning of our financial processes during a period of increased project activity.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Maintain accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and accuracy.
+ Reconcile bank statements, credit cards, and vendor accounts regularly.
+ Process payroll and assist with benefits administration as needed.
+ Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and summaries for management.
+ Track job costs, project billing, and support the invoicing process.
+ Record journal entries and support month-end and year-end close activities.
+ Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable tax regulations.
+ Assist with budget tracking and provide expense summaries to management.
+ Support external accountant with document requests for tax filings.
+ Organize and maintain physical and electronic financial records.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
+ Demonstrated experience as a bookkeeper, preferably in a small business or landscaping/construction environment.
+ Proficiency with QuickBooks (Online or Desktop).
+ Strong understanding of the accounting cycle, payroll, and general best practices.
+ Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
+ Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
+ Strong communication skills; ability to collaborate with operations and field staff.
Additional Details:
+ Assignment Length: Estimated 3-6 months, with possibility to extend based on business needs.
+ Work Schedule: Flexible, part-time or full-time. Hybrid/onsite preferred for document management.
