    Job Title: Combat Systems EngineerJob Description

     

    We are seeking a skilled Combat Systems Engineer to join our team in Dahlgren, VA, and support a US Navy Program that requires extensive Combat System Integration expertise. This full-time role offers an exciting opportunity to work on Non-AEGIS ships, including amphibious submersibles and Aircraft Carriers, contributing to the safety and efficiency of our nation's warfighters.

    Responsibilities

    + Conduct ship checks to document existing compartment arrangements and system configurations.

    + Provide development and modification of drawing products.

    + Develop Projected Class Baseline (PCB) drawings to support Ship Installation Drawing (SID) development for multiple ship changes to Amphibious ship classes.

    + Create Contract Guidance Drawings (CGDs) including room arrangements and system block diagrams.

    + Perform detailed technical reviews of Ship Installation Drawings (SIDs), Installation Control Drawings (ICDs), Ship Change Documents (SCDs), and Authorization Work Packages (AWP).

    + Provide technical resolution to identified ship system/integration issues.

    + Evaluate system-level interface issues and provide recommendations.

    + Evaluate and provide recommendations to resolve configuration issues and deficiencies.

    Essential Skills

    + Minimum of 6 years experience as either a Fire Control Technician (FC) or Electronic Technician (ET) or 5 years’ experience in ship design or integration.

    + Familiarity with Combat System block wiring and line diagrams.

    + Specific experience in areas such as Command and Control (C2), Electronic Warfare (EW), Ship Self Defense System (SSDS), or Exterior Communication Systems (Excoms).

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Recent and verifiable experience supporting Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) ship integration efforts is preferred.

    + Proficiency in AutoCAD and technical documentation review.

    + Ability to obtain a SECRET security clearance (a current Secret Clearance is a plus).

    + US citizenship is required, and holding a US passport is advantageous.

    Work Environment

    The position is based in Dahlgren, VA, with a hybrid work model of 3 days on-site and 2 days from home. Alternatively, work can be based in Norfolk at Fort Monroe. Occasional travel, up to 10%, may be required.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
