Job Title: Chassis Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Chassis Technician to work with powertrain hardware and electrical systems, supporting a fleet of prototype heavy-duty trucks. Your primary focus will be on installing and removing powertrain components and building wiring harnesses for data logging equipment. This role involves working closely with engineers to ensure all hardware is installed according to specifications, and documenting any changes or measurements.
Responsibilities
+ Install and remove powertrain hardware as directed by engineers.
+ Ensure hardware is installed per specifications and document changes and measurements.
+ Build and assemble wiring harnesses used for powertrain data logging equipment.
+ Support truck engineers with hardware and instrumentation installation and removal.
+ Gain knowledge of powertrain systems to support prototype heavy-duty trucks.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in powertrain systems, automotive technology, and data logging.
+ Experience with heavy-duty trucks and troubleshooting.
+ Ability to install hardware and build wiring harnesses.
+ Electrical and mechanical aptitude.
+ Experience with wire harness assembly.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Must have 2+ years of hardware installation and removal experience.
+ Must possess transportation experience in automotive, aerospace, bus, or truck sectors.
+ Must have personal tools for the job.
Work Environment
The work involves supporting prototype vehicles that operate around Oregon 24/7. Technicians work in a corporate environment with designated shifts to install and remove hardware from trucks twice a day, following engineer instructions. The role requires familiarity with hand tools and a commitment to maintaining safety and precision in all task
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Portland, OR.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $36.00/hr.
