    Job Title: Hardware Manager

    Job Description

    As a Hardware Manager, you will be responsible for owning the product vision, roadmap, and lifecycle for handheld leak detection instruments. You will define product strategy that aligns with utility compliance requirements, emissions management, and operational realities.

    Responsibilities

    + Own the product vision, roadmap, and lifecycle for handheld leak detection instruments.

    + Define product strategy aligned to utility compliance requirements, emissions management, and operational realities.

    + Balance performance, cost, manufacturability, reliability, and time-to-market.

    + Translate customer, regulatory, and internal requirements into Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) and system-level requirements.

    + Partner with engineering to evaluate sensor technologies, embedded systems, and data pipelines.

    + Make informed tradeoffs across hardware, firmware, software, and operations.

    + Work with Product Engineering to plan and sequence product development.

    + Manage dependencies across hardware, firmware, and software teams.

    + Participate in design reviews, field pilots, and post-deployment retrospectives.

    + Ensure products move cleanly from prototype to production and scale.

    + Partner with Product Marketing to translate technical capabilities into customer-ready value propositions.

    + Provide technical input for sales enablement, customer demos, and RFP responses.

    Essential Skills

    + 10+ years of experience in Product Management for technical products.

    + Direct experience with hardware-software integrated systems.

    + Strong technical literacy in embedded systems, firmware, sensors, and data pipelines.

    + Ability to work effectively with engineering teams.

    + Comfortable operating in regulated, safety-critical, or industrial environments.

    + Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    + Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with hardware-focused work experience.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Direct experience with gas detection leak devices.

    + Experience managing field deployed hardware, firmware, and software engineering.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $67.00 - $76.00/hr.
