Position Summary
The Senior Clinical Pharmacist Medicare Part D (Med D) is instrumental in providing strategic and operational oversight for development, implementation, and evaluation of utilization management (UM), including the annual formulary/bid strategy and submission process. This position provides direction for UM strategy for Standard Formulary offerings by evaluating clinical relevance, efficacy, and associated value working cross-functionally to gain consensus from leadership and key stakeholders. The individual in this position is a key player on the team responsible for formulary utilization management and related processes and for ensuring full compliance with applicable CMS rules and regulations.
The individual also provides clinical subject matter expertise, support, and oversight for the design and operations of the Medicare Part D program related to drugs and UM requirements outlined in CMS Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit Manual.
This is a hybrid role, based out of our Buffalo Grove, IL or Pittsburgh, PA office locations. Colleague would work 3 days per week in office, with the ability to work remotely the other 2 days. Must reside in commutable distance to Buffalo Grove, IL or Pittsburgh, PA.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of four (4) years experience in a Managed Care environment Active, unrestricted pharmacist licensure in state of current residence
Strong clinical skills and knowledge
Superior analytical skills, quantitative skills, logic and problem solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to work with large data sets, analyze data and provide recommendations based on the analysis.
Demonstrated ability to produce results by determining timeframes, deadlines and successive steps.
Strong organizational and communication skills and proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in a matrix organization.
Demonstrated ability to work across boundaries and locations, have attention to detail, and understand the impacts of their function to the organization, clients, and plan participants.
Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Knowledge of RxCLAIM system formulary and UM setup.
Preferred Qualifications
Pharmacy Residency
Board Certification (any discipline)
Experience with MS Access
Demonstrates ability to identify opportunities, define approach, develop project plans and oversee implementation of formulary related projects and services.
Ability to exercise professional judgment in analyzing and resolving issues.
Knowledge of the regulatory environment and applicable standards.
Education
BS in Pharmacy or PharmD

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$123,250.00 - $228,800.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
