How You'll Make a Difference
Valvoline has a rewarding opportunity as a **Data Engineer Intern** . The VRS Data Engineering team is building the future state of how Valvoline will use data to support our stores and our customers. To help us continue that progress, we are looking to onboard a data engineering intern to maintain our current cloud data environment and progress our analytics enablement.
+ Utilize established framework of processes to move and make available data for interested groups.
+ Utilize Microsoft end-user tools, including Office 365 and Power BI for consuming cloud data, especially directly connected to AWS Data Lake Services.
+ Gain knowledge on AWS storage and serverless compute layers to implement data lakes with the ability to execute queries via the Athena and data lake services
+ Gain knowledge on implementation of data warehousing and data lake principles, including data
+ modelling, ETL/ELT pipelines, and database administration
+ Utilize Copilot, Databricks Assistant, and Genie to write and debug code within our internal data platform.
+ Communicate with business units for requirements understanding and validation of production ready data products.
+ Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion.
What You'll Need to Succeed
+ Must be a current JR or SR pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related field
+ Python (PySpark) – entry level
+ Jupyter notebooks – preferred
+ SQL – entry level
+ AWS Services (Glue, S3, Athena): entry level understanding
+ (Or Azure/Databricks equivalent of above services)
+ GitHub – preferred
+ Power BI – preferred
+ Must be authorized to work in the US for any employer
