Now Hiring: School Counselor / School Mental Health Worker

Grade Level: High School

Compensation: $50/hour + Full Benefits

Schedule: Full-Time | 40 hours/week | Monday–Friday | 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated School Counselor / School Mental Health Worker to provide individual and group counseling to high school students experiencing emotional, behavioral, or social challenges. This role focuses on helping students develop coping strategies, improve emotional regulation, and enhance overall mental well-being. You will collaborate with families, teachers, and school staff to create a safe and supportive learning environment, facilitate referrals to community-based mental health services, and contribute to school-wide mental health initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

+ Provide individual and group counseling to students.

+ Support students in developing coping strategies and improving emotional regulation.

+ Collaborate with families, teachers, and staff to promote mental health and academic success.

+ Facilitate referrals to community-based mental health services when needed.

+ Contribute to school-wide mental health programs and initiatives.

+ Maintain accurate documentation and comply with professional standards.

Minimum Requirements

+ School Counselor Licensing/Certification in accordance with the Wisconsin Department of Instruction.

+ Degree requirements may include Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Nursing, Sociology, or related fields per state or contract guidelines.

+ Prefer 3 years of experience in a social service agency working with children and families, and training in school or social work settings.

+ Participation in continuing ethics and boundary training as required by the Wisconsin Department of Regulation and Licensing.

+ Current CPR certification (if applicable).

+ TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (if applicable).

+ Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation).

+ Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.

+ Must be at least 18 years of age.
