Role Title: Senior Android Engineer
Work Model: Hybrid (On-site Tuesday–Thursday)
Employment Type: 6+ months contract – strong chance to extend
A top digital consultancy that does custom mobile development is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to join their team in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. This is a hybrid contract role with on-site collaboration required three days per week.
Role Overview
This role is ideal for a seasoned Android engineer who enjoys working in complex, evolving codebases and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. The successful candidate will bring strong technical expertise, sound architectural judgment, and the ability to problem-solve in ambiguous environments.
A coding assessment will be a critical part of the interview process.
Key Responsibilities
+ Design, develop, test, and maintain Android applications using modern best practices
+ Contribute to and help guide technical design, architecture, and code quality standards
+ Work across the full development lifecycle, including analysis, implementation, and documentation
+ Collaborate with team members in a hybrid, team-based development environment
+ Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
+ Lead by example—mentoring teammates while remaining hands-on with development
+ Navigate and improve complex or ambiguous legacy codebases
Required Qualifications
+ 5–7+ years of Android development experience (7–10+ years welcome)
+ Strong proficiency with Kotlin, including:
+ Coroutines
+ Flow
+ Kotlin Multiplatform
+ Deep experience with Jetpack Compose (must-have)
+ Experience with Android Jetpack components, including:
+ ViewModel
+ WorkManager
+ LiveData
+ DataBinding
+ Lifecycle
+ Room (SQLite)
+ Material Design
+ Proven ability to perform well in coding assessments
+ Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience leading or mentoring other developers
+ Comfort working in large, complex, or loosely documented codebases
+ Strong collaboration and communication skills in hybrid environments
