    Job Summary

    **Summary:** The Restaurant Host is responsible for welcoming patrons and seating them in the restaurant. In this position, the Host should understand the content of the menu and ensure that food is delivered in a timely fashion. The Host should understand and follow food safety and sanitation guidelines and help with the execution of area setup and breakdown.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    + Assign patrons to tables suitable for their needs and according to rotation schedules so that servers receive an appropriate amount of seating.

    + Maintain contact with kitchen staff, management, serving staff and customers to ensure that dining details are handled properly, and customers’ concerns are addressed.

    + Receive and manage reservations ahead of service at each event.

    + Ensure all food and beverages are properly delivered and/or stored.

    + Knowledgeable on all menu offerings.

    + Follows set up and break down processes efficiently.

    + Understands all event paperwork and reports.

    + Establishes rapport with guests and understands suggestive and upselling techniques.

    + Adheres to location appearance guidelines.

    + Acts with a sense of urgency and professionalism.

    + Employs good safety and sanitation practices.

    + Follows responsible alcohol service policies.

    + Understands the importance of maintaining equipment and executes accordingly.

    + Thoroughly completes all event set-up and breakdown responsibilities within timelines provided.

    + Performs post event product inventory and restocks as needed.

    + Help fellow employees whenever necessary.
