    The Maintenance Engineer operates and maintains the equipment and fixtures within the facility using acceptable work practices and following hospital and departmental guidelines to maintain a safe, comfortable environment for patients, staff and visitors.

    Position details:

    + 1.0 FTE (80 hours per pay period)

    + day/eve/night shift

    + as needed weekend rotation

    Responsibilities

    + Repairs and maintains various pieces of mechanical and electrical equipment following accepted practices and procedures. These systems include plumbing, controls, HVAC refrigeration and electrical/emergency power.

    + Repairs and maintains patient care equipment to provide a safe environment for patients and comply with the standards of the various regulatory agencies

    + Gains a thorough working knowledge of the major systems within the hospital, and is able to operate them safely and efficiently and troubleshoot problems so they can be reminded with a minimum of down time and distribution of service

    + Repairs, maintains, adjusts and calibrates miscellaneous portable equipment brought to the shop for repair, including but not limited to wheelchairs, carts, kitchen equipment, banomemters, beds, tubes etc.

    + Demonstrates the ability to use blueprints, schematics and technical manuals to trouble-shoot an isolate problems.

    + Performs periodic preventive maintenance on fans, motors, belts, HVAC systems, steam, water, sewer, air and vacuum lines regulatory as assigned.

    Required Qualifications

    + GED or High School Diploma

    + 3 years Building maintenance, that includes HVAC, electrical, mechanical, EMS, fire systems pumps

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Technical School Graduate of an accredited trade school in refrigeration, electricity, building maintenance or other appropriate course

    + Minnesota Maintenance Electrical License ; Universal Refrigeration Certification
