    Job Summary

    This role is responsible for assembly, installation, maintenance, rehabilitation, inspection, and repair of passenger boarding bridges and other Oshkosh AeroTech products at customer sites. The Field Technician provides technical expertise during installations, audits, and training activities, working directly with customers and internal teams to ensure equipment is installed, serviced, and operating safely and to specification.

    + Perform on-site assembly, installation, maintenance, rehabilitation, and repair of passenger boarding bridges and related Oshkosh AeroTech equipment.

    + Work directly with Customers, Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing to support equipment installation and service activities.

    + Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control system issues encountered during installation or service.

    + Perform detailed equipment inspections and audits, documenting findings and producing inspection reports for customers.

    + Conduct operator, maintenance, preventative maintenance, and hands-on technical training for customers across product lines.

    + Identify required parts, tools, and materials needed for installations, repairs, or training activities.

    + Provide on-site technical guidance and direction to subcontractors or customer personnel as related to equipment installation and service work.

    + Inspect assembled, installed, or repaired equipment to verify compliance with company quality standards, drawings, and governing specifications.

    + Communicate technical findings, corrective actions, and follow-up recommendations to customers to ensure equipment performance and satisfaction.

    + Recommend product or process improvements based on field experience to enhance equipment reliability, quality, and customer outcomes.

    + Attend on-site meetings as a technical representative to address installation progress, technical concerns, and scope-related issues.

    Basic Qualifications

    + High School Diploma or equivalent.

    + Three (3) or more years of relevant hands-on experience in equipment installation, maintenance, repair, or field service.

    + Ability to travel 70–80% to customer sites.

    Standout Qualifications

    + Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, construction standards, and technical procedures in English.

    + Ability to write clear technical reports and communicate effectively with customers and contractors.

    + Prior experience with Syteline preferred.

     

    Physical Demands

    + Frequent standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and climbing.

    + Occasional walking, sitting, reaching, and balancing.

    + Regular lifting up to 10 pounds, frequent lifting up to 25 pounds, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.

    + Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

    Work Environment

    + Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts.

    + Occasional exposure to heights, fumes or airborne particles, vibration, and moderate to high noise levels.
