What You'll Do
Within the context of the team, this position will participate in the design, construction, repair and maintenance of injection molds, as well as in the design and construction of tools, fixtures and other devices that support Manufacturing and Product Development efforts.
+ Apply critical thinking related to process choice and maximizing productivity, quality and cost optimization.
+ Participate in the construction, repair, and maintenance of injection molds, mold components, tools, fixtures and other devices.
+ Provide design input at initial design conceptualization through to the final tool design.
+ Assist in the accumulation and collection of data related to specific jobs and/or skill development as assigned.
+ Provide assistance to co-workers in the management/fabrication of their projects/tools when called upon.
+ Provide input into mold troubleshooting and processing that supports the molding departments.
+ Other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
+ Education: 2-year AAS degree in Mold Making, 2-year technical certificate or certification in an approved (certified) apprentice program in Machine Trades with emphasis in Mold Making is required.
+ 2+ years of experience as Toolmaker or in a related field.
+ Experience in the operation of all foundational machine tools that are commonly found in a Toolroom environment, and the efficient use of those machines including advanced processes is required.
+ Familiarity/experience with Ram and Wire EDM Wire, VMC's, and other CNC equipment, their processes, and the programming/operation of such machines is required.
+ PC experience with CAD/CAM software is required. (CAM-TOOL experience preferred)
+ Training/experience to apply advanced cutting techniques to graphite and fully hardened tool steels is required.
