    Job Description:

    + Participates in laboratory and hospital performance improvement activities, including evaluating new equipment and procedures.

    + Transports hazardous waste from the point of generation to a designated secure storage area, completing initial and refresher training for proper handling and disposal.

    + Answers the telephone and performs clerical and receptionist duties to support department operations.

    + Performs post-analytical activities including reporting results and providing technical and support information for all age groups.

    + Provides resolution to customer service issues within guidelines and supports education for clinical staff as appropriate or requested.

    + Performs pre-analytical activities including equipment maintenance, function checks, inventory control, specimen collection, biological specimen processing, cleaning and disinfection, quality control, and calibration.

    + Conducts all expected tests and analytical procedures efficiently and accurately according to hospital procedures, performance standards, and competency standards.

    + Participates in proficiency testing, adhering to federal and state regulations as well as hospital policies.

    $20.60 - $38.31
