Job Description:

+ Registers, orders, and accessions pathology specimens into computer systems.

+ Performs specimen processing, embedding, microtomy, routine and special histologic staining, frozen sectioning, cover slipping, and handling of irreplaceable tissue, surgical, and body fluid specimens.

+ Prepares specimens for research requests and transports specimens to/from collection sites, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and regulatory guidelines.

+ May perform special staining on tissues as needed, maintaining solutions and documenting quality control.

+ Adheres to safety requirements and appropriately handles and disposes of chemicals.

High School Grad or Equiv (Required)Clinical Laboratory Technician - Histotechnologist (TC-HISTO) - Accredited Issuing Body, Histotechnician (HTASCP) - EV Accredited Issuing Body, Medical Laboratory Technician (MLTASCP) - EV Accredited Issuing Body

Pay Range:

$21.56 - $40.09
