Job Description Summary

You will be responsible for operational management of data center facilities, delivering continuous availability for GE applications. You will focus on ensuring data center compliance to standards process.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

+ Perform day to day operational functions related to data center environment.

+ Provide strong leadership to the data center maintenance team and hold the team accountable for delivering solutions to customer.

+ Implement industry best practices while focusing on productivity and optimization of data center infrastructure.

+ Engage, leverage, and drive simplified processes.

+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to produce high-quality content.

+ Work in high stress situations and provide support to a 24x7 team.

+ Develop and maintain internal web and monitoring applications

Minimum Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or college with minimum of 2 years of professional experience OR associate's degree with minimum of 5 years of professional experience OR High School Diploma with minimum of 7 years of professional experience

+ **Note:** Military experience is equivalent to professional experience

Eligibility Requirement:

Desired Characteristics:

Technical Expertise:

+ Broad knowledge of IT disciplines including compute, network and storage platforms

+ Knowledge of industry best practices in data center management

+ Strong technical foundation in infrastructure technologies including Linux and Windows server administration

+ Scripting languages including Powershell, Bash

+ PXE server and Windows unattended install automation

Business Acumen:

+ Strong Project management skills

+ EHS and crisis management experience or awareness

+ Experience in process management and improvement in a technical environment

Personal Attributes:

+ Possesses excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently

+ Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical audiences

+ Strong analytical skills: strong problem-solving skills; communicates in a clear and succinct manner

+ Ability to work independently and direct groups of contractors
