The Lead Additive Manufacturing Specialist at the Auburn, Alabama site is a manufacturing engineering role supporting our high-volume production of metal additively manufactured parts. In this role you will be responsible for departmental operations planning/execution, focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

+ Own specific manufacturing router processes as agreed upon with people leader

+ Keep process documentation (planning) updated and relevant

+ Understand process variation and how to control it (six sigma)

+ Identify and execute on opportunities to drive waste out of a process (lean)

+ Work to change processes if appropriate as requested by associates, the quality organization, or other source

+ Utilize in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy

+ Utilize knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; and be aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market

+ Use judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles

+ Use technical experience and analytical thinking

+ Use multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions

Required Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of manufacturing engineering supportexperience)

+ At least an additional 3 years of manufacturing engineering support experience
