About the Role
At CAE, we’re looking for a dynamic Senior Manager of Sales Engineering to lead a high‑performing team of technical experts who partner with our sales organization to deliver cutting‑edge aviation operations software. This role is ideal for a leader who combines strong technical depth with aviation industry insight and a passion for helping airlines, business aviation operators, and training organizations transform their operations through advanced SaaS and cloud‑native solutions.
This is a remote role, with a preference for candidates located near FlightScape operational hubs. While your day‑to‑day work will be performed remotely, you’ll collaborate closely with teams at our physical sites and may occasionally travel for team alignment, project initiatives, or operational support. Success in this role requires comfort working across time zones, partnering with on‑site teams, and thriving in a distributed, fast‑moving environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Development
+ Build, mentor, and manage a high‑performing Sales Engineering team specializing in aviation operations solutions.
+ Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
+ Provide coaching, performance management, and career development support.
Sales Enablement
+ Partner with Sales leadership to develop strategies that accelerate deal cycles and improve win rates in the aviation sector.
+ Ensure the team delivers compelling technical presentations, demos, and proof‑of‑concept engagements tailored to airline and operator needs.
+ Support the sales process with strong technical credibility and customer‑facing expertise.
Solution Expertise
+ Maintain deep knowledge of our aviation operations portfolio, including Crew Management, Flight Planning, Operations Control, and Disruption Management solutions.
+ Translate complex technical capabilities into clear business value for airline executives and operational teams.
+ Guide customers through technical evaluations and solution design discussions.
Industry Engagement
+ Stay current on aviation regulations, operational challenges, and emerging technologies (e.g., AI‑driven disruption prediction, cloud‑native architectures).
+ Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and customer workshops as a trusted technical advisor.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
+ Work closely with Product Management to provide field insights that influence roadmap priorities.
+ Collaborate with Marketing on messaging, positioning, and aviation‑specific solution content.
+ Partner with Professional Services to ensure smooth handoff from pre‑sales to implementation.
Operational Excellence
+ Define KPIs for Sales Engineering performance and track progress against goals.
+ Optimize processes, tools, and workflows for scalability and efficiency across global teams.
+ Ensure consistent delivery quality across all customer engagements.
QualificationsEducation & Skills
+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
+ MBA is a plus,
+ 8+ years in Sales Engineering or Technical Pre‑Sales roles
+ Minimum 3 years in a leadership or management capacity.
+ Proven track record supporting enterprise aviation software solutions.
+ Strong technical background in SaaS, cloud‑native platforms, and integration with airline systems.
+ Excellent communication and presentation skills for both technical and executive audiences.
+ Strategic thinker with the ability to balance technical depth and business impact.
+ Strong leadership, coaching, and team‑building capabilities.
Required Experience
+ Familiarity with airline operations systems (OCC/SOC), crew scheduling, flight planning, and disruption management.
+ Experience with AI‑driven predictive analytics or operational optimization tools.
+ Understanding of aviation regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements.
