    The following position is to join our RTX **Technology and Global Engineering** team in Product Safety:

    Role Overview:

    This Product Safety regulatory compliance role is responsible for monitoring, interpreting, and driving the internal implementation of product safety regulations (e.g. EU Product Rules, ESPR) and other applicable global regulatory requirements. This role ensures the organization proactively complies with evolving regulatory expectations by translating complex external requirements into clear, actionable internal processes and controls.

     

    The position requires the analysis of complex product safety and regulatory issues (working closely with Legal, Contracts and Compliance), assessment of business risk, and the ability to recommend practical, business solutions. The individual will lead cross-functional teams, often without formal authority, and must effectively influence stakeholders across engineering, quality, legal, operations, and program management (RLPM) to achieve compliance objectives.

     

    Strong executive communication skills and presence are essential, as the role regularly prepares and delivers concise, risk-based updates and recommendations to senior leadership. Success in this position depends on the ability to negotiate, build consensus, and balance regulatory rigor with operational realities, enabling timely decision-making while maintaining product safety and compliance integrity.

     

    This role operates with a high degree of autonomy and accountability, serving as a trusted subject matter expert and advisor on Global product safety regulations, internal governance, and regulatory risk management.

    What You Will Do:

    + Monitor, interpret and assess European product safety regulations (e.g., EU Product Rules, ESPR, CE marking) and other applicable global regulatory requirements for applicability and impact to RTX products and operations.

    + Translate complex regulatory requirements into practical internal policies, procedures and governance processes to ensure sustained compliance across the organization.

    + Serve as a subject matter expert and advisor to leadership on product safety regulatory risk, compliance status and emerging regulatory trends that could potentially impact program execution.

    + Facilitate cross-functional alignment, achieving regulatory compliance, balancing with business and operational considerations.

    + Build strong internal networks and partnerships to drive accountability, consistency and timely execution of safety requirements.

    + Support RLPM and program readiness activities including the development of internal assessments and processes across all phases of program lifecycle.

    + Serve as the RTX POC for sustainability and governance activities associated with ESG, CSRD, and other related activities

    Qualifications You Must Have:

    + Bachelor’s degree in engineering (advanced degree preferred) or a related field with 10 years of related work experience

    + 8+ years of experience in technical disciplines relevant to aerospace and defense with focus on impact to product safety

    + Proven experience working with and assessing European and other applicable global regulatory requirements

    + Executive presence and influence – Proven experience working directly with executive and senior leaders

    Qualifications We Prefer:

    + Proven strategy-to-execution experience translating direction into roadmaps, operating rhythms, and measurable outcomes in a dynamic, complex enterprise.

    + Strong program management skills managing multiple initiatives simultaneously and strong analytical skills with data-driven decision-making.

    + Change leadership and continuous improvement mindset able to simplify processes, improve operating models, and drive adoption.

    + Operational grit and follow-through able to push through obstacles and deliver outcomes on schedule.

    + Demonstrated ability to collaborate across functional and business boundaries.

    + Experience with assessing and mitigating risks while leading innovation and SMS process excellence.

    + Aviation safety regulatory and accident investigation knowledge.

    + Skilled in working with Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and information systems.

    + Experience in using continuous improvement tools (CORE, Six Sigma, Lean, etc.)

    The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

     

    RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

    Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

     

    This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
