Key Responsibilities:
The Senior Manager - Cargo Systems Transformation is directly responsible for leading Cargo System (UC360/Skychain) replacement. This individual will partner with DT, Cargo business leaders, and Cargo business units responsible for technology, operations, service, delivery, revenue management, sales, call center, accounting, strategy and performance to assess current system, identify gaps and efficiencies and define Cargo’s technology strategy for the future. They will lead vendor system assessment, make recommendation for new system(s), lead the build and implementation of the new Cargo Operating System.
This individual will also lead the comprehensive transformation of United Airlines' Cargo operating system, including strategic replacement planning, interim system enhancements, vendor evaluation, and implementation oversight. This role ensures seamless transition while minimizing operational disruption and duplicate efforts across the cargo network.
+ Assess, develop, and implement strategic direction for United Cargo System Replacement - Lead the planning, develop and execute dual-track strategies for cargo system replacement and current system optimization.Create transition roadmap that minimizes duplicate work and maximizes operational continuity.Define business requirements, success metrics, and ROI targets aligned with cargo revenue objectives.Present strategic recommendations and progress updates to executive leadership.
+ Identify and lead stakeholders to assess and select consulting firms for implementation, change management, and technical support.Define scope of work and deliverables for external consulting partners.Manage consulting relationships and ensure alignment with program objectives.Oversee consulting firm performance and deliverable quality.
+ Develop comprehensive change management strategy for system transition.Lead stakeholder engagement across Operations, Sales, IT, Finance, and Customer Service.Establish training programs and user adoption strategies.Coordinate communication plans for internal and external stakeholders.
+ Lead and direct the development, and implementation of Cargo’s digital strategy. Implement key to significantly enhance Cargo’s capabilities in a rapidly evolving digital marketplace thereby keeping Cargo relevant in a competitive, global market. Enable low cost/high value distribution channels, including UA booking portal, air cargo marketplaces, customer direct connect, and TMS. Manage the technical framework that will support e-marketing and sales of United Cargo products.
**Note:** This is a Chicago-based, hybrid role with in-office requirements 50% of the time from Willis Tower. This role will travel up to 20% of the time.
Qualifications
What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
+ Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant work experience
+ 5+ years of hands-on experience in SkyChain and/or cargo competitor host system applications
+ 5+ years of experience in leading or managing a broad-based cross-functional team
+ Proven experience in successfully collaborating with stakeholders on technology initiatives
+ Proven experience in developing and implementing strategies for large scale technology initiatives
+ Strong, hands-on working knowledge of SkyChain functionality and capabilities
+ Ability to effectively manage high impact projects at all levels in the organization
+ Ability to manage and lead cross-functional teams
+ Ability to effectively guide stakeholders
+ Strategic vision & planning skills
+ Proven project management, analytical & presentation skills
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills with leadership, project management team, and stakeholders
+ Strong collaboration skills
+ Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
+ Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
+ Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):
+ Master's degree
+ Experience functioning as the primary business owner for a technology platform.
+ Hands-on experience with CPO
+ Hands-on experience with SF
+ Working knowledge of Cargo industry technology platforms (i.e., competitor platforms)
+ Subject matter expertise in previously mentioned technology platform(s)

The base pay range for this role is $127,870.00 to $166,492.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
