10-month position

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Facilitate targeted professional learning on topics, including, but not limited to:

+ Work-Based Learning

+ Integration of Career/ Employability Skills

+ Personal Finance Instruction

+ Collaborate with school counselors, teachers, administrators, and district coordinators to expand career-connected learning opportunities for students, including supporting curricular connections across content areas, career awareness activities, career exploration, and career development opportunities.

+ Promote a regional career-connected learning culture and support the implementation of the NY Inspires plan.

+ Access current research, evidence-based practices, and resources to integrate into professional learning experiences and share with participating districts

+ Contribute to curriculum development and career awareness, exploration, and development resources, and develop instructional materials as needed

+ Serve as the regional liaison for career-connected/ work-based learning for districts participating in the base service

+ Collaborate with BOCES career counselors, career-connected learning coordinators, and other staff to support participating districts

+ Collaborate with members of the Professional Learning and Innovation Center and the Career Development Center to support the advancement of work-based learning in the region.

+ Travel within the district/ BOCES to classrooms, employers, and partner sites.

+ Engage in NYSED-required training and district and BOCES professional learning

Job Qualifications

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

+ NYS Certified Teacher - any content area Grades 7–12

Preferred Additional Qualifications:

+ At least five years of successful classroom teaching/work-based learning experience

+ NYS Work-based learning certification
