    Basic Operator

     

    The Basic Operator plays a critical role in daily manufacturing operations, supporting safe, efficient, and high‑quality production. This position covers a range of tasks traditionally associated with roles such as Packer, Material/Waste Handler, Clerk, Palletizer, and Sanitizer. As an essential member of the operations team, the Basic Operator ensures smooth line performance, maintains cleanliness standards, and identifies issues or abnormalities to operational leadership.

    Shift: 3pm-11pm (M-F) or 11pm-7am Tues-Sun

    Pay Rate: $15.75/hr

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Perform pre–start-up checks to verify equipment and work areas are clean, safe, and compliant with SOPs. Assist with proper equipment shutdown procedures. Manage material requests and usage in SAP, including accurate returns and material countdown to reduce waste. Perform routine line tasks.Conduct cleaning activities and initial inspections per SOPs. Identify potential contamination risks and communicate concerns to team leaders.

    + Maintain continuous flow of correct packaging materials, load hoppers with appropriate materials.Observe product and packaging quality to ensure compliance with defined standards. Quickly detect abnormalities and take immediate action to prevent defects or disruptions.

    + Understand workplace hazards and follow appropriate safety and environmental protocols for personnel, products, materials, equipment, and processes.

    + Communicate safety concerns, operational observations, and improvement suggestions clearly to team leaders.

    + Ability to move quickly between workstations and navigate steps while carrying materials.

    + Adequate hand‑eye coordination and dexterity for assembly tasks and machine controls.

    + Sufficient visual and sensory ability to perform inspections and quality checks.

    Required

    + High school diploma or equivalent.

    + Strong reading, writing, communication, and basic math skills.

    + Excellent attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work collaboratively.

    + Commitment to safety and quality.

    Preferred

    + Experience in a Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) or manufacturing environment.

    + Basic computer proficiency; familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and SAP is a plus.
