Our client, a biotechnology and life sciences innovator, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be part of the **Sustaining Engineering Department** supporting **Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Product Lifecycle teams** .

The ideal candidate will have **strong problem‑solving skills** , **excellent cross‑functional communication** , and **the ability to lead technical investigations** — qualities that will align well with the organization.

Job Title: Sr Mechanical Engineer

**Pay Range:** 53.50$–66.75$ per hour

What’s the Job?

+ Lead sustaining engineering activities to support ongoing manufacturing and improve product reliability.

+ Identify and implement mechanical design, cost, and reliability improvements for existing DNA sequencing systems.

+ Perform system‑level testing, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for mechanical failures.

+ Design mechanical components, assemblies, and test fixtures using SolidWorks.

+ Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve technical issues and support lifecycle management initiatives.

What’s Needed?

+ B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with 8+ years, or M.S. with 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience.

+ Proficiency in SolidWorks, mechanical design principles, and GD&T.

+ Experience working with precision assemblies, materials selection, and manufacturing processes.

+ Proven ability to lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions.

+ Experience in sustaining engineering; FDA‑regulated product experience is a plus.
