    Job Title: CNC Programmer

    Job Description

    The CNC Programmer is responsible for creating, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs for various machines used in metal fabrication. This role ensures efficient production, high-quality output, and adherence to safety and compliance standards.     Responsibilities

    + Develop CNC programs using G-code and CAM software for turning, milling, and Swiss-type machines.

    + Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to create accurate programs.

    + Optimize tool paths for efficiency, accuracy, and minimal waste.

    + Configure offsets, tooling, and machine parameters for initial setups.

    + Analyze machining processes and recommend improvements to reduce cycle time and increase productivity.

    + Collaborate with operators and engineers to troubleshoot programming or machining issues.

    + Ensure all programs meet dimensional tolerances and quality standards.

    + Maintain documentation for programs, setups, and revisions.

    + Adhere to OSHA and company safety guidelines during programming and setup activities.

    + Program and support multiple CNC machines, primarily Fanuc-controlled, including lathes, mills, and Swiss-type machines.

    + Adapt programs for different materials (steel, aluminum, stainless, etc.) and tooling requirements.

    Essential Skills

    + 3+ years of CNC programming experience in a metal fabrication environment.

    + Proficiency with Fanuc controls and G-code programming.

    + Experience with CAM software.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Experience with Mastercam.

    + Ability to interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.

    Work Environment

    This position is based in a metal fabrication shop, which includes welding, machining, and fabrication activities. The environment involves working with various CNC machines and different materials. There is room for growth in this dynamic setting as the job offers diverse projects due to the contract manufacturing nature.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Reading, PA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $45.00/hr.
