    Hiring a Bilingual Phlebotomist in Manhattan NY!

    Job Description

    We are seeking a bilingual phlebotomist with over 2 years of recent experience in phlebotomy. The ideal candidate should be proficient with straight needles and comfortable performing venipunctures independently from day one. Strong communication skills, reliability, and punctuality are essential, and proficiency in both English and Spanish is highly preferred.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, and conduct decontamination procedures.

    + Update patient information accurately.

    + Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.

    + Explain the venipuncture and specimen collection process clearly and courteously to patients.

    + Demonstrate techniques using straight and butterfly needles.

    + Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.

    + Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.

    + Ensure test requisitions or computer labels match scripts with 100% accuracy.

    + Package specimens for transport and store specimen samples at the required temperatures.

    + Place samples in appropriate collection containers or tubes, accurately label, and follow protocols necessary for maintaining the integrity of the specimen during transport.

    Essential Skills

    + 2+ years of recent phlebotomy experience.

    + Proficiency in venipuncture techniques using straight needles.

    + Strong communication skills.

    + Reliability and punctuality.

    + Bilingual in English and Spanish.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Minimum 1 year of experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.

    + Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

    Work Environment

    The position is based in a new Patient Service Center (PSC) in Lower Manhattan, handling 30-50 patients daily, with a capacity of up to 60. The work schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8am to 5pm, Thursday from 10am to 5pm, and every other Saturday from 10am

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New York, NY.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
