    Job Title: Analytical ChemistJob Description

     

    We are seeking a dedicated Analytical Chemist to join our team. This role involves conducting sample processing and performing complex analytical procedures while adhering to QA/QC protocols and methods. The candidate will work under the supervision of a professional staff member and be responsible for supporting various programs.

    Responsibilities

    + Conduct sample processing and perform established complex analytical procedures, adhering to QA/QC protocols, methods, and instrumentation.

    + Spend at least 50% of time performing work requiring scientific or specialized analytical studies.

    + Support other programs for about 50% of the time, with no more than 20% of the workweek devoted to non-professional activities.

    + Manage multiple tasks concurrently while maintaining exceptional organizational skills.

    + Exercise discretion and judgment with respect to scientific or specialized work.

    + Provide technical support through self-direction and independent action.

    + Advise local managers and professional staff on technical support matters.

    + Ensure the local site is prepared to perform laboratory work in program areas, including the operation of analytical instrumentation.

    + Read, understand, absorb, process, and communicate complex information effectively.

    + Respond to internal technical queries in a competent and timely manner.

    + Work from the office location or field locations for extended periods.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related discipline.

    + 3+ years of chemistry lab experience.

    + Proficiency in Gas Chromatography, including sample preparation, instrumentation maintenance, and GC analysis/operation.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Strong organizational skills.

    + Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.

    + Effective self-direction and independent action in technical support.

    + Excellent communication skills for processing and conveying complex information.

    Work Environment

    The role is based in an environmental laboratory that supports quality and development activities for chemical industry members and clients. The position requires working at both office and field locations, utilizing a variety of laboratory technologies and equipment.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newberry, FL.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $38.00/hr.
