    Essential Skills

    + Experience in documenting construction activities on a project site (construction, civil, environmental, geotechnical).

    + Understanding of construction or engineering documents/plans.

    + Experience or willingness to travel for 2-3 months at a time.

    + Proficiency in using basic computer technology such as Microsoft Word and Outlook.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Onsite experience with field testing or sampling for soil, concrete, or other construction materials.

    + Multiple years of construction experience.

    + Multiple years of traveling experience.

    Job Description

    The Field Engineering Technician is responsible for on-site observation and documentation for field inspection and testing of soils and geotechnical liners. Projects include environmental control systems and landfill components for civil construction sites across the United States. The role primarily involves reporting and documentation for construction material and soil testing and sampling work being done on-site. The Engineering Technician will travel to project sites regularly, for 5 to 8 weeks at a time. A valid driver's license is required.

    Responsibilities

    + Supervise and perform construction quality control activities.

    + Maintain documentation of data and information from the field.

    + Collaborate and coordinate with Project Managers.

    + Prepare general reporting and documentation.

    + Provide direction to support staff.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Rapids, MI.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
