Job Title: Automation Technician - Second ShiftJob Description
This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing advanced technical support for the installation, troubleshooting, and improvement of automated and electronic equipment. The Automation Technician will work independently on complex projects involving mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, robotic, and PLC systems, while supporting continuous improvement and preventive maintenance efforts.
Responsibilities
+ Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical, mechanical, and robotic systems.
+ Modify and create PLC and HMI programs; adjust robot paths and vision systems.
+ Support new equipment launches and retrofits.
+ Perform and improve preventive maintenance using CMMS software.
+ Respond quickly to production issues to minimize downtime.
Essential Skills
+ Associate’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience (e.g., journeyman card + 5 years).
+ Proficiency in PLCs, HMI, and industrial robotics (ABB preferred).
+ Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
+ Effective communication and leadership abilities.
+ Fluent in English; Spanish bilingual preferred.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with hydraulics, automation, and pneumatics.
+ Skill in PLC programming and troubleshooting.
+ Knowledge of electronics and schematic repair.
Work Environment
The position is based in an automotive manufacturing setting, working 45-55 hours per week on the second shift (3 pm - 11 pm). Some weekend work may be required. The role provides an excellent opportunity for maintenance technicians to enhance their skills in PLC and robotic troubleshooting within a supportive and growth-oriented environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Holland, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
