Job Title: Associate Scientific Services SupportJob Description

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our dynamic lab service team as an Associate Scientific Services Support. In this role, you will provide essential lab support by managing chemical supplies and ensuring the cleanliness and availability of laboratory glassware. This position is located 100% onsite at our Campus Point Drive location in San Diego.

Responsibilities

+ Enhance the customer experience by picking up and delivering glassware, including biologically contaminated reusable glassware and plastic ware.

+ Follow established procedures for handling and transporting glassware and contaminated items.

+ Perform specialist cleaning tasks such as autoclaving, ultrasonic cleaning, and potential pipette processing as part of an agreed periodic routine.

+ Operate and maintain autoclaves, glassware washers, dry heat sterilizers, ultrasonic baths, and incubators.

+ Keep accurate records using temperature chart recorders and equipment forms, and ensure proper documentation.

+ Perform routine inspections and checks on glassware and autoclave equipment.

+ Prepare items for sanitization by following procedural steps.

+ Inspect glassware for cleanliness and structural defects.

+ Monitor and report glassware inventory levels to the lead.

+ Maintain housekeeping of glassware processing areas.

+ Follow all procedures for glassware processing and use Good Documentation Practices (GDP) for paperwork.

+ Observe all safety precautions and proactively raise safety concerns.

+ Complete all required trainings in a timely manner.

+ Collaborate with other teams to deliver seamless lab support and cross-train to back up other service areas.

Essential Skills

+ High School Diploma or GED.

+ Ability to follow oral and written directions.

+ Demonstrated ability to operate relevant equipment after training.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Previous glass wash experience preferred.

+ Proficiency in Excel.

+ Research experience is beneficial.

+ College graduate or current student acceptable if able to meet schedule and commit.

+ Team player with a willingness to learn.

Work Environment

This position requires working 100% onsite at Campus Point Drive, San Diego, in a laboratory-controlled environment requiring personal protective equipment. The standard working hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with flexibility for a 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. schedule. The role demands physical readiness, including walking between buildings, standing or sitting for extended periods, and lifting up to 25 lbs. The job pace may be fast, and completion demands can be high. Employees must manage hazardous wastes in compliance with company procedures and regulations. The role also involves working with biohazards such as blood-borne pathogens.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of San Diego, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.
