    Job Title: Die Helper

    Job Description

    As a Die Helper, you will support Die Makers in ensuring that dies function correctly and meet all specified requirements for the customer. You will learn the die-making process, including the use of various bench tools, and assist in assembling dies from scratch. This role involves manual machining, grinding, and assisting in die tryouts and repairs.

    Responsibilities

    + Assist Die Makers in the die-making process to ensure specifications are met.

    + Learn and use various bench tools and processes involved in die making.

    + Support in assembling dies from scratch and conducting die tryouts.

    + Help in repairing dies during tryouts and perform bench work.

    + Maintain ownership of dies throughout the manufacturing process.

    Essential Skills

    + Willingness to learn about the tool and die field as an apprentice.

    + Experience in tool and die, mechanically inclined, bench tech, and die setting.

    + Manual machining, grinding, lathe operation, and mechanical aptitude.

    + Proficiency with shop tools, tape measure, stamping, machining, grinders, micrometers, progressive die, and surface grinding.

    + Die Setter background and willingness to enter the Tool & Die Trade.

    + Experience with progressive or transfer dies and overhead cranes.

    + Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Possession of own tools including hand tools, allen wrenches, hammers, mics, calipers, and die bars.

    + Nice to have: Benching or Shop Hand background.

    + 1+ years of experience with tool room equipment.

    Work Environment

     

    Work in a stamping and CNC facility that has been recently repainted and equipped with additional lighting for a better working environment. Choose between 1st shift hours from 6am - 4:30pm or 2nd shift from 4:30pm - 3am. Both shifts offer 10-hour workdays with Saturdays required. Training will be provided on your desired shift.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Roseville, MI.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
