• Staff Accountant

    Robert Half Accountemps (Port Orchard, WA)


    Description

    The Staff Accountant will support daily accounting operations and ensure accurate financial reporting. This role works closely with the Accounting Manager and plays an important part in maintaining the integrity of the company’s financial data. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable handling routine accounting tasks while contributing to process improvements.

    Core Responsibilities

    + Record and maintain journal entries and general ledger activity

    + Perform monthly reconciliations for bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts

    + Assist with month-end close and financial statement preparation

    + Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes

    + Review transactions for accuracy and proper documentation

    + Assist with audits, tax filings, and compliance requirements

    + Maintain organized financial records and schedules

    + Identify and recommend improvements to accounting processes

    Requirements

    + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline

    + 2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience

    + Solid understanding of general ledger accounting and GAAP

    + Experience using accounting software or ERP systems

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools

    + Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

    Preferred Experience

    + Month-end close and reconciliation experience

    + Exposure to audit or financial reporting

    + CPA or progress toward certification
