Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Port Washington, New York. This role is ideal for someone who is detail oriented and has a strong background in accounting, particularly within the distribution or manufacturing sector. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy of financial records and supporting the organization’s financial processes.

Responsibilities:

• Manage month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.

• Oversee general ledger activities, including maintaining account accuracy and resolving discrepancies.

• Prepare and post journal entries to support financial reporting needs.

• Perform account reconciliations to ensure alignment between financial statements and actuals.

• Conduct bank reconciliations to verify transactions and balances.

• Utilize SAP and BlackLine systems to streamline accounting operations and reporting.

• Collaborate with teams to improve accounting processes and maintain compliance.

• Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide actionable insights.

• Assist in preparing documentation for audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.

• At least 7 years of experience in accounting with attention to detail.

• Proven expertise in the distribution or manufacturing industry.

• Proficiency in financial systems, including SAP and BlackLine.

• Strong knowledge of month-end close processes and general ledger management.

• Experience with journal entries and account reconciliations.

• Ability to conduct bank reconciliations accurately and efficiently.

• Background in public accounting is a plus, with interest in transitioning to private accounting.
