Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Mount Clemens, Michigan. This position involves delivering exceptional tax compliance and planning services to individuals and closely held businesses. Ideal candidates will have extensive expertise in taxation, a proactive approach to client engagement, and the ability to manage projects independently while collaborating with team members.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for various entities, including individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts, and estates.
• Provide year-round tax planning and advisory services tailored to business owners and high-net-worth individuals.
• Conduct research on complex tax issues and present clear, actionable recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with multi-state and local tax regulations as applicable.
• Oversee financial statement preparation and review monthly financial statements for accuracy.
• Utilize software such as UltraTax, Accounting CS, Engagement Manager, and QuickBooks to manage accounting processes efficiently.
• Mentor less experienced staff by reviewing their work and providing constructive feedback.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met effectively.
• Collaborate with principals and team members to enhance service delivery and resolve complex issues.
• Manage engagement workflows and deadlines to ensure timely completion of projects. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or eligibility with intent to maintain licensure.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting with a focus on taxation.
• Proficiency in preparing and reviewing complex tax returns for various entities.
• Strong technical knowledge of individual and business taxation.
• Familiarity with software tools such as UltraTax, QuickBooks, and Accounting CS.
• Ability to manage client relationships and deliver exceptional service.
• Experience mentoring team members and providing accurate reviews of their work.
