• Staff Accountant

    Robert Half Accountemps (Olympia, WA)


    Description

    We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close activities. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in general accounting who enjoys working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Perform daily accounting functions including journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance

    + Assist with month-end and year-end close processes

    + Prepare and analyze financial statements and variance reports

    + Support accounts payable and accounts receivable as needed

    + Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts

    + Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with GAAP

    + Assist with audits, tax preparation, and compliance requirements

    + Collaborate with internal departments to resolve accounting discrepancies

    + Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls

    Requirements

    + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

    + 2+ years of accounting experience (public or industry)

    + Solid understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting

    + Experience with accounting software/ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Sage, Dynamics, QuickBooks, or similar)

    + Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs preferred)

    + Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills

    + High level of accuracy and attention to detail

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Experience with month-end close and financial reporting

    + Prior experience in [industry, if applicable]

    + CPA or CPA-eligible a plus
