    Job Duties and Responsibilities

    **EchoStar** is seeking a **Principal Network Architect** to play a pivotal role in designing and deploying new functions, applications, and infrastructures for our converged terrestrial and non-terrestrial integrated network environments. You'll contribute directly to the success of EchoStar's mission by gathering functional requirements, evaluating deployment scenarios, defining solutions, and guiding internal and external partners through complex connectivity and integration processes across our various network segments. The role involves providing advanced technical leadership in application and network routing designs, paving the way for growth opportunities within various teams supporting our integrated infrastructure.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Lead the effort to gather functional, support, capacity, and reliability requirements for integrated network infrastructure and applications, spanning both satellite and terrestrial domains

    + Evaluate and define complex solutions in collaboration with vendors, internal engineering teams, and strategic partners, focusing on seamless network convergence

    + Provide thorough evaluations of potential solutions, recommending the best options with comprehensive justifications and cost-benefit analyses

    + Develop high-level and low-level design documentation for integrated network solutions and assist Engineering/Implementation teams in certification and validation processes

    + Effectively communicate and present potential solutions to highly complex problems to technical and non-technical stakeholders

    + Offer deep technical expertise and mentorship in executing network and systems solutions, integration, and validation plans across diverse network segments

    + Independently assess vendor capabilities, limitations, and long-term strategies, particularly as they relate to future integrated network roadmaps

     

    Skills, Experience and Requirements

    Education and Experience:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field

    + 15+ years of experience in large-scale enterprise, carrier, or service provider environments, with a strong focus on complex, integrated networks

    + Professional networking certifications such as CCIE, JNCIE, or equivalent are highly advantageous

    + Public cloud certifications (e.g., advanced networking, cloud network engineer) or equivalent expertise in cloud-integrated network design are beneficial

    Skills and Qualifications:

    + IP routing protocols (OSPF, SRMPLS, BGP, SRv6) and complex traffic engineering

    + Quality of Service (QoS) mechanisms for differentiated services across multiple network media

    + Data Center and Enterprise Switching Architectures (e.g., Spine-Leaf, ACI, or equivalent) and their integration with core networks

    + Service Provider Networking Technologies (L3VPN, L2VPN, EVPN, Segment Routing)

    + IP Addressing (CIDR, IPv4/IPv6) and advanced IP planning for large-scale, heterogeneous networks

    + Network Security principles and their application in highly available, integrated environments

    Salary Ranges

     

    Compensation: $127,050.00/Year - $208,725.00/Year

    The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
