Job Description
This role is with a full‑service home medical equipment provider offering a wide range of products including oxygen therapy equipment, sleep therapy supplies, patient lifts, lift chairs, bath safety aids, CPAP machines, ventilators, and breast pumps.
Schedule & Training
+ Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM with a 1‑hour lunch
+ Training: Hands‑on training with management. Training typically lasts about one month, after which the employee is expected to work independently. Training includes learning medical equipment offerings as well as the internal computer systems.
Position Overview
Customer Service Specialists are responsible for learning and managing the full front‑end process to ensure high‑quality service and support for patients.
Key Responsibilities
+ Answer inbound calls and make outbound calls and emails
+ Provide timely and professional responses to patient and referral inquiries
+ Obtain, review, analyze, and verify the accuracy of information received from referrals
+ Create orders and/or schedule patients to receive medical equipment as prescribed by their physician
+ Process orders and route calls to appropriate internal resources when needed
+ Follow up on patient and customer inquiries as required
+ Meet established performance and response‑time goals for calls and emails
On‑Call Responsibilities (After Training Completion)
+ Frequency: One on‑call weekend approximately every 6 weeks
+ Hours: Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM
+ Location: Weekend on‑call support only; no weeknight on‑call requirements at this location
+ Remote Work: On‑call shifts may be worked remotely
+ Scheduling: On‑call schedules are created quarterly (in 3‑month increments). Employees may trade or pick up additional shifts with team approval.
Compensation for On‑Call Shifts
+ Weekend on‑call: $50 stipend
+ Holiday on‑call: $100 stipend
+ Any time actively spent on calls is paid at the employee’s hourly rate plus time‑and‑a‑half
+ Employees log only the time spent assisting customers
+ Even if no calls are received during the shift, the on‑call stipend is still paid

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kalamazoo, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
