Position Summary:
The Field Service Technician performs advanced technical work with minimal supervision from the Field Service Manager and is responsible for managing all service-related aspects of assigned customer accounts while ensuring full compliance with company and departmental policies. This role oversees the installation, maintenance, and repair of complex capital equipment and electronic systems at customer sites. The Field Service Technician also provides technical leadership, mentors junior engineers, and actively contributes to the continuous improvement of service processes. Essential Job Responsibilities:
+ Install, configure, upgrade, remove, and retrofit company equipment, ensuring systems meet specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements.
+ Perform preventive maintenance, system checkouts, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs to minimize downtime and maintain optimal equipment performance.
+ Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues as the on-site technical expert, delivering high-quality repairs with minimal call-backs.
+ Provide professional customer support, including timely response to service requests, on-site training for equipment operation and basic maintenance, and effective follow-up.
+ Maintain accurate service documentation, inventory records, calibration compliance, and expense reporting in accordance with Field Service SOPs.
+ Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards while maintaining effective working relationships with customers and internal teams.
+ Support acceptance testing, service contract activities, process improvement initiatives, and perform other duties as assigned by the Field Service Manager.
Qualifications/ Skills:
+ Strong technical aptitude in electronics, electro-mechanical systems, and power devices, with the ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and service documentation.
+ Proven troubleshooting and analytical skills, including effective fault isolation and use of electronic test equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
+ Hands-on experience assembling, servicing, and repairing electronic and electro-mechanical equipment in a field service or customer-facing environment.
+ Proficiency with basic PC operations, including Windows and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), and the ability to produce clear, accurate service documentation.
+ Customer-focused mindset with strong communication and relationship-building skills; able to work independently at customer sites while representing the company professionally.
+ Self-motivated team player with a willingness to continuously learn and expand technical expertise; typically requires 5–7 years of relevant technical or field service experience.
Education:
+ AA/AS Degree preferred; 5 years mechanical, electromechanical equipment repair experience in the Surface Mount Technology industry sufficient in lieu of degree.
Physical requirements and working conditions:
This position requires that the candidate be able to lift 60-75 pounds without assistance and be able to bend into machinery without restrictions.

+ Valid (current) passport
+ Valid U.S. Driver’s License
+ The ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 80% of the time.
Compensation Information:
The pay rate will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications and prior experience. The range for this position is :$30.00 - $38.50/hr.
