Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Responsibilities You will restore existing coating systems on the entire aircraft, weapons systems, engine, dynamic components, major components and GSE. You will prepare surfaces for coatings using abrading, washing, cleaning, chemical treating, hand washing, and polishing solvents to ensure proper cleanliness and surface finish of all systems and components You will mask and protect surfaces not to be painted using masking tape, discs, fixtures and a variety of blank off, plugs and caps You will read proprietary, and legacy specifications, blueprints, technical directives, electronic and paper manuals You will work from drawings, manuals, technical directives, instructions You will prepare aircraft, engines, ground support equipment and components for finish using various chemicals, detergents and solvents in conjunction with high pressure steam and water. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. WG-08 This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1.) Work from drawings, manuals, technical directives, instructions, and at times, under guidance of a higher graded Painter. 2.) Prepare aircraft, engines, ground support equipment and components for finish. 3.) Prepare aircraft, engines, ground support equipment and components for finish using various chemicals, detergents, and solvents in conjunction with high pressure steam and water. 4.) Perform, by detailed instructions, strip operations such as, chemical, and plastic media blasting, masking, applying chemical conversion to bare substrates, identifying various types of corrosion and treat in accordance with technical information. 5.) Mix and apply various paints/proper finishes to process aircraft, aircraft engine structures, components, assemblies, and/or subassemblies. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. WG-05 This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Mix and apply various paints/proper finishes to process aircraft, aircraft engine structures, components, assemblies, and/or subassemblies. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
