Overview
THE ROLE:
Enable smarter investment and faster learning by redefining ambiguous business challenges into evidence-based decisions, not just documented requirements.
This role exists to reduce strategic and execution risk by uncovering the real problems, validating assumptions, and guiding teams toward solutions that deliver measurable business value. You will operate at the intersection of strategy, data, and discovery, crafting what should be built and why—before it is fully specified.
This is not a traditional “requirements gathering” role.
You will:
+ Work in problem spaces before solutions are known
+ Challenge assumptions embedded in requests and roadmaps
+ Use analysis, data, and experimentation to guide decisions
+ Help leadership decide where to invest, pivot, or stop
HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE:
Problem Framing & Strategic Discovery
+ Partner with business, product, UX, and engineering leaders to reframe requests into solvable business problems
+ Identify underlying drivers behind symptoms, feature requests, and collaborator demands
+ Surface assumptions, risks, and unknowns early—before large investments are made
+ Translate strategic objectives into clear decision questions, not just requirements
Experimentation & Assumption Validation
+ Design and support business experiments, pilots, and discovery efforts
+ Define hypotheses, success criteria, and measurable outcomes
+ Use qualitative and quantitative analysis to validate or invalidate assumptions
+ Enable early go / no-go/pivot decisions based on evidence
Data-Driven Insight & Decision Support
+ Perform data analysis to uncover patterns, opportunities, and risks
+ Develop arguments focused on learning value and optionality, not just the return on investment
+ Build decision frameworks that balance value, feasibility, risk, and timing
+ Translate complex analysis into executive-ready insights and recommendations
Future-State Thinking & Value Design
+ Define future-state business capabilities and workflows advised by insight
+ Find opportunities for process simplification, automation, and digital enablement
+ Help build solution approaches collaboratively with UX and engineering
+ Ensure business intent is preserved from discovery through delivery
Innovation → Scale Enablement
+ Resolve when business understanding is sufficient to lock requirements
+ Support the transition from exploration to delivery with clarity and focus within the field
+ Ensure requirements, success metrics, and value hypotheses are well-defined for scale teams
+ Maintain traceability between the original problem, insight, and delivered outcome
Stakeholder Facilitation & Influence
+ Facilitate workshops focused on decision-making, not documentation
+ Align diverse collaborators around evidence rather than opinion
+ Act as a trusted advisor to leadership during periods of uncertainty
+ Mentor other analysts in analysis approaches focused on learning and adaptation
