    The mission of the Secretary of State's office is to serve the public by meeting its legal responsibilities of collecting, securing and communicating information that enhances commerce, ensures the integrity of Louisiana's elections and preserves, presents and makes accessible government information essential to Louisiana's operations and its recorded history.

     

    Join our team and drive the communications strategy for the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum as a Public Information Officer 1 or 2.

    AN IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING COMPETENCIES:

    Minimum Qualifications

    Three years of experience in public relations, journalism, marketing, content creation, social media management, or graphic design; OR

    Six years of full-time experience in any field; OR

    A bachelor's degree.

    EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:

    Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

    Job Duties and Other Information

    Job Duties:

    + Scheduling and leading tours.

    + Scheduling and coordinating special events.

    + Experience in marketing to include social media (preferable)

    + Ability to work independently, as well as collaborate with schools, teachers, support groups, and museum staff

    + Occasional work outside of normal schedule (evenings and weekends)
